The goal is to remove the paper use in all possible tasks, guaranteeing efficiency, sustainability and safety.
Campinas, December 14, 2022 – The adoption of good sustainable practices is increasing globally. And at Agi it’s not different. On behalf of efficiency and the planet, the company is investing increasingly on projects, services and behaviors based on the ESG agenda, abbreviation in English that includes actions of environmental preservation, social and corporative governance topics.
Starting from initiatives of removing paper use, the company already saves almost 100 tons of sheets annually, which means that almost 2,065 trees are protected in this period. Furthermore, 206 million liters of water are saved per year, as according to information from the global organization Water Footprint Network, it spends on average 10 liters of water to produce a single paper sheet. The data presented by Agi were audited by PwC, one of the biggest consultancy and auditing multinational companies of the world.
The project, called paperless, was accelerated in 2020 because of the pandemic and caused a huge change, as it digitalized Agi’s over 880 hubs spread all over Brazil. Besides eliminating contract printing, the initiative provided more agility and safety for the clients and for the business. Since then, all the contracts are available primarily in a digital platform, where the client has access to view all the information about the hired product and sign digitally, without use any physical document.
“At Agi, we use Face Match, a technology of identity verification by artificial intelligence, that makes a check of a selfie with a document image, analyzing personal characteristics present in the face” explains Marcelo Oliveira, Chief Technology Officer of Agi. Also, according to Marcelo, when there is coincidence of elements in images that enable the system to understand that both pictures are the same person, there is a match and then it’s possible to proceed with the contract formalization.
Besides that, Agi created and adopted a specific app for the over 3 thousand Hub employees all over Brazil. With the technology, the consultant just needs to take a picture of the identity document and automatically all the information is inserted in the system, generating the digital contract.
In terms of market, the paperless management impact also reflects in gains in the operational efficiency and information safety. “When we joined the paperless model, all the information, files and workflows were integrated in a single system, which guarantee agile services, providing a significative gain in performance. Another important positive point is that all the documents stored were protected by cryptography and their handling is trackable, so the company and the world gain”, ends Marcelo.
It’s important to highlight that, around the world, approximately 3% of all companies’ profits are destined to paper, printing, storing and servicing of documents, according to Gartner’s consultancy research.
Agi Campus – optimization in energetic efficiency and reducing on water consumption
Another initiative that demonstrates Agi’s environmental commitment is the head office in Campinas – The Agi Campus -, based on the Industrial District, inside the Bresco Viracopos Corporative Park, in a building with 19 thousand m² having a LEED Gold certification – Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design – awarded by Green Building Council and is considered one of the highest in sustainability.
The space – totally aligned with the innovation and well-being guidelines of the company – is covered by solar panels, has an architecture that maximizes mobility and natural lighting, as well as having a highly efficient air conditioning, water reuse, effluent treatment, parking exclusive for electric cars, among other solutions.
